Our team’s been working from home for 7 weeks now. We’re really lucky to be able to keep working (and even contributing to some of the Klick Group COVID-19 rapid response projects) while safely isolating.
Through these difficult times, it’s important to keep spirits up, stay connected, and look for things to be grateful for.
I asked the team:
“What’s something you’ve started doing since we’ve all been self-isolating that you want to keep doing afterwards?”
Here are a few of their answers:

Alessandra
I noticed that I had much more calls and Sunday lunches with my family over different tools which were not frequent before (I haven’t had any before), definitely want to keep it!

Alyssa
There are SO MANY THINGS I want to keep doing. I want to continue cooking at home more often, taking more time to exercise and be active throughout the week, staying in touch with friends over video if we can’t coordinate our schedules to meet, reading more and just generally making time for the things that make me happy! Life before this was super busy and I didn’t really give myself a chance to decompress and do the things I love! Also being more positive, grateful, and appreciative!

Jay
I’ll second the staying in touch with people — I’ve had more contact and shared time with family and friends during this than I did before. I’ve also been more engaged in my daughter’s schooling, which has been a really nice part of the experience for me.

For us as a family it will be in no particular order:
- Making sure to take part in and support our local community consistently
- Enjoying our family, which is also keeping in touch with those not at arms reach
- Nature contact every weekend. Visiting our beautiful parks more.
I can probably go on for hours, it has been a great time for reflection.

One thing I want to continue is to find small ways to help the people in my community and also to remember it’s ok to ask for help/small favours. We moved into our condo a year ago and had barely gotten to know our neighbors, but through this isolation the condo Facebook group has been very active with people exchanging small kindnesses–picking up essentials for others on grocery runs, making and distributing free fabric masks, borrowing tools/ingredients/whatever, brainstorming ideas on how to support our local small businesses. The sense of community has been really nice.

Chelsea
As for me, I want to keep discovering more small and local businesses and shifting to buying more of their goods and services. Our area has so much to offer and it’s great to be able to meet and learn from the producers directly.
I hope you’re staying safe and finding small (or large!) joys throughout your day!
